What platforms do you support?

We supply files ready for use on Mac or PC systems, with layout files that can be used cross-platform, and fonts for both platforms.

What layout applications are your files supplied in?

We currently supply all of our mailers in Adobe InDesign CS3 and InDesign exchange format (able to be opened in CS2 and later), and in QuarkXpress version 7 & 6.

Can I get pdf files of my mailers?

More recent archives include a press quality PDF version, but since alternate content is set up on layers and on the pasteboard of the layout files, using the PDFs will limit your options.

Can I download my mailers from your web site?

Yes, we make new editions available for download from our online file server. We will send you a notification by email with the details you need to download and decrypt the files. You can also browse the member's area to find and download mailers.

What if I don't like a mailer? Can I exchange it for a different edition?

We have always offered a free exchange for subscribers who would prefer a different mailer for any reason. Now that we have switched to free-choice within the member's area, you can take your choice from the entire library. That way you only download mailers you know you will use.

Do you sell postcards selling wide format imaging?

We do have a series of ColorCard postcards promoting large/wide format work, and we are planning campaigns focused on other product and service specialties as well as industry verticals. Use the "Search By Tag" options to locate mailers around a particular theme.

Do you sell postcards I can use to promote my web site?

Use the "Search By Tag" options to locate mailers under the "Web Site Promotion" theme. Also, see the [WT] Web Traffic module for a more complete set of tools to attract vistors to your website.

Do you offer postcards to sell traditional offset printing?

Our ColorCard postcards can be adapted to sell traditional offset printing with minimal copy changes and sometimes alterations to text layers in the Photoshop files we supply.

Can I change the content of my mailers?

Yes, you are free to make any changes you like. Although our mailers are ready to deploy with minimal customization, we encourage you to adapt, edit or replace content to make them your own. use them as the basis for a campaign that promotes your particular capabilities in your own voice.

Are your mailers editable?

All layout files and images are fully editable. Photoshop files are supplied with fully editable layers. The only exception is when we have used a font to create artwork and then converted it to outlines. If it is not a font we have licensed for use with our mailers then we do not include it, and if you wish to edit the text on such a layer you would need to substitute a font you have licensed yourself.

A lot of the jokes I come across seem to be offensive to some ethnic group, or women or blondes… How can I be sure if I send your Inklings mailers out that I won’t be offending someone on my list?

We are careful to avoid any subjects that could be obviously offensive or controversial, and although that means a lot of the jokes our researchers find are not considered for Inklings, it still leaves plenty of funny material that we believe should have very broad appeal. We have a list of subjects and wordings that we will not use, but our basic guide is that a joke should not single out any group or individual for the amusement of others. If it isn’t something that we believe everyone could find amusing then we won’t use it. If you notice content in any of our products that could offend please bring it to our attention. And you always have the option of customizing your mailers in a special case.
